Netherlands/EU Government Scholarships Available for International Students

Holland Scholarships

Holland Scholarship is for international students who are not from the European Economic Area (EEA), and want to study at Holland’s participating universities. This scholarship is worth EUR 5,000 and you will receive it in your first year of study.

Orange Knowledge Programme

 

The Orange Knowledge Programme is designed to increase the knowledge, capacity and quality of individuals and organisations in higher and vocational education as well as other areas related to the priority theme countries. The OKP scholarship will supplement your salary during the scholarship period. The scholarship pays for your living expenses, including tuition fees, travel costs, insurance, and visa costs.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for the Netherlands

Erasmus Mundus Scholarships are available to Dutch universities for a variety of study programs. These scholarships enable international students to study in the Netherlands under a participating Erasmus Mundus program.

 

Dutch Universities and Colleges that Offer Scholarships to International Students

Leiden University Excellence scholarships

Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Programme is available to exceptional non-EU/EEA students enrolled in any MA, MSc or LL.M program offered by Leiden University. These scholarships are in the following form: EUR10,000 tuition fee, EUR15,000 tuition fee or the total tuition fee less the home fee.

University of Maastricht Scholarships

Maastricht University offers the UM Scholarships for talented students outside of the EEA. These scholarships allow them to study any UM graduate programme for professionals or master’s program. These scholarships pay tuition fees, monthly living expenses, insurance and visa costs.

Radboud University Scholarship Program

A select group of potential non-EEA students are eligible to apply for the Radboud Scholarship Programme. This program provides a scholarship that will allow them to study a full English-taught master’s degree at Radboud University Nijmegen. The scholarship does not include a tuition waiver, but it is an amount that you will not receive in cash. The tuition fee for EEA students will be waived. The Radboud Scholarship covers visa, residence permit, and liability insurance costs.

Utrecht University Excellence Scholarships

A number of exceptional students are eligible to apply for the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship allows them to study a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in selected fields at Utrecht University. The Utrecht Excellence scholarship is available as tuition fees or tuition fees plus 11.000 euros living expenses.

Erik Bleumink Scholarships University of Groningen

The Erik Bleumink Fund Scholarships can be awarded to any 1-year or 2-year Master’s degree program offered by the University of Groningen. The grant covers tuition fees as well as the cost of international travel, subsistence and insurance.

TU Delft Excellence Awards

International students can apply for a variety of excellence scholarships at Delft University of Technology. One of these programs is the Justus & Louise van Effen Scholarship. It aims to financially support outstanding international MSc students who wish to study at TU Delft. This scholarship covers tuition fees as well as a monthly allowance to cover living expenses.

Amsterdam Merit Scholarships (Netherlands).

The University of Amsterdam strives to attract the best students from around the globe to its international classrooms. Amsterdam Merit Scholarships are available to outstanding students from countries outside of the European Economic Area. The scholarship ranges from EUR2,000 to EUR25,000 depending on the faculty.

University of Twente Scholarships

University Twente Scholarships are scholarships for outstanding students from EU/EEA and non EU/EEA countries who apply for a graduate program (MSc) at University of Twente. One-year scholarships are available from EUR 6,000 to EUR 25,000.

VU Amsterdam Fellowship Programme

Talented students from outside of the EU/EEA have the opportunity to apply for the VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP). This program allows them to study in a variety of Master’s programs at VU University. Students from outside the EU/EEA can apply for the fellowship, which is worth EUR15.000.
